What a fun weekend! Not only did I get to spend 3 days with the amazing Loren Spencer, but I got to see a lot of familiar faces. Seeing and meeting legends Charlie Pride and Larry Gatlin was definitely the highlight of the event for me, as well as meeting Sgt. Shilo Harris, a wounded warrior whose story touched my heart. Getting to hug the necks of Jack Ingram and Zona Jones again made me realize that I need to get out and enjoy more of our Texas Country performers. Being a Texan all my life should have made me more familiar with the amazing Bonnie Bishop, Radney Foster and Kevin Black. I ask myself now, "Where in the world have I been? How did I miss these awesome people?" Mostly, I will always be thankful to Doug Centilli, my dear friend, who seems to have a photocopy of my bucket list. Because his friendship is always so constant, I have decided to forgive him for forgetting to inform me that Jamie Foxx was "in the house", and introduced Charlie Pride to the stage minutes before Loren and I got there. His is the only photograph you "won't" see :-( grrrrr! But, it's okay! I am SO fortunate to have had the opportunity to have a front row seat to see such legendary talent at it's finest. Photography has it's advantages, that's for sure! You will notice though, that I cannot recall all of their names and hope to update this blog as I put the remaining names with their faces.
